5 ELEMENTS OF OUR NUCLEAR SAFETY
We are committed to the supply of Western European mill materials and will always request a customers concession when this preferred source is not available. We provide full visibility and traceability of metals in the supply chain; Kloeckner will not remove distributor names from any distributor sourced test certificate, as this is a breach of our compliance policy. We provide red stamped 3.1 and 3.2 test certification and a certificates of conformity on request.
We offer our UK customers an extensive range of pipe and fittings to (RCC-M) French nuclear standards though our French sister company who are experienced in metals supply to EDF add link to our product range. We are the owners of three XRF hand held spectrometers which are held at our central stocks in Blackburn, Leeds and Dudley. A process flow and procedure is available on request.
Our cross contamination avoidance procedure is also available on request.
We offer a dedicated project / key account management team to support your business needs – including dynamic sourcing of ferrous and non-ferrous items. We provide an extensive in house processing capability to CE execution class 4.
Our plate and profiling centres have the facility to provide a plate etching service on both stainless and carbon sheet or reversing mill plate.
Our ‘kit of parts’ offering allows your workforce to focus on assembly and fabrication.
Bar coded systems are in use to manage trace-ability and stock holding.
We offer our customers bespoke packaging and labeling solutions.
We provide a free of charge product awareness training and technical support service which is available from our Technical Manager and Product Management team, who will also provide you with information on product innovation.
Consider providing us with your electronic cad files for your profiling needs, as this would ensure you receive an exact cost for your profiling requirements.
A consignment stock arrangement is available for your consideration which would prevent project downtime, minimise goods in and quality inspection procedures and ensure you only pay when you use the item.
A rebate scheme is available which would enable you to receive credit for increased activity from both you and your sub-contractors.
We will acknowledge our customer’s enquiry by return.
We aim to return our quotation within 24 hours for core items and 48 hours for non-core and value-added items.
We provide you with a SAP order acknowledgment and ensure that a contract review is carried out before emailing to our customer within 48 hours.
Our Group Quality Management team can provide our clients with a detailed quality control plan.
We can provide you with a standard core price list for our extensive range of stocked items, and can provide indicative pricing to support your bid teams when tendering for new business.
We are pro-active in issue resolution and adopt a SAP based non-conformance procedure which also offers a full root cause investigation service.
We use SAP and offer the future capability to integrate using EDI technology.
Our staff have access to our internal intranet site where they are provided with a comprehensive range of documented procedures and process flows to support their training. These procedures and flows are also available to our nuclear customer on request and tested during site audits.
We have some experience and knowledge of Sellafield, NDA, Sabre and Def com standards and specific requirements.
We work to EN standards for metal materials, including tolerances and certification standards.
We have a vendor approval process and carry out regular audits of our supply chain.
We offer an extensive range of UKAS approved testing services through our partners Exova and MIS.
Cross contamination controls are in place which includes a detailed policy which covers the storage and handling of stainless materials.
We employ experts in Product management, structural engineering, operational, logistics, dynamic sourcing, key account contract and project Management.
We encourage our staff to take advantage of the ‘Adult Apprenticeship’ QCF scheme administrated by Kloeckner Metals UK and funded by the government.
Many of our staff are knowledgeable in EN standards for metal materials, including tolerances and certification standards.
A single point of contact with a Total Metals Management offering is available to our nuclear customers.
We are ISO 45001:2018 accredited.
We operate a zero drug and alcohol policy for all our employees.
Under our code of conduct policy, our employees are fully informed of their obligations relating to ethics, compliance and client confidentiality.
All our staff are equipped with the latest PPE wear to carry out their duties.
All our drivers are provided with comprehensive training on safe loading of vehicles.
We carry out daily inspections on our dedicated fleet of vehicles using the latest electronic technology.
All our vehicles are fitted with reversing cameras; our latest vehicles are also equipped with spill kits and fire extinguishers.
We hold and maintain a business continuity plan and risk management plan. A crisis management plan is also held at each of our 12 sites.

We are approved suppliers to SL (metals framework holder since 2010), BAE Submarines (metal supply contract since 2009), NAMRC (metals framework holder since 2014) and Doosan Babcock (national framework holder to all 60+ power stations, since 2015).

NUCLEAR CASE STUDY:
SUPPORTING IMPORTANT NATIONAL PROJECT
Kloeckner was awarded a multi-million pound contract by BYLOR to produce embedment sleeves for Hinkley Point C.
This newly awarded contract will see Kloeckner Metals UK supply processed and coated embedment sleeves to Tier 1 Contractor BYLOR – a Laing O’Rourke and Bouygues TP joint venture.
