CELLULAR AND PLATE BEAMS

The Westok Plate Beam is manufactured using advanced welding technology on our submerged-arc T & I line. It provides the optimum bespoke beam solution in shape and web aperture.
USES AND APPLICATIONS
The Westok Plate Beam is used in applications where there is a requirement to achieve one or both of the following:
The transfer of particularly heavy loads, where the capacity of a Westok cellular beams is exceeded.
A specific arrangement of web penetrations of varying size and location – “any hole, anywhere”.
COMPLEX FABRICATION
Including architecturally significant pieces of steelwork, such as curved and tapered box and plated sections, we have significant experience in undertaking the fabrication and supply of particularly deep and long pieces of steelwork; beams in excess of 2m in depth and 38m in length – manufactured and delivered in one piece to suit the requirements of a particular project.
On some schemes, a mix of cellular beams and WPBs are designed to drive the greatest economy into the project. At relatively low beam weights, a Westok Cellular Beam is usually the more economical solution. However, where very heavy or deep sections are required, a Westok Plate Beam may prove more economical.
