Kloeckner offers a wide range of extruded Aluminium products including Bar, Angles, Tube, Channel and Special profiles. Lightweight and flexible, extruded Aluminium possesses a uniquely high strength-to-weight ratio, making it the perfect solution for a number of complex design problems.
Extruded Aluminium high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance has led to application in aeronautical, marine and automotive projects. In particular, its corrosion-resistance has proved to be a desirable trait in architectural, marine and military applications as well as usage in cables and wires.
At Kloeckner Metals UK we are pleased to announce that we have extended our core range of Aluminium extrusion in grade 6063 and 6082.
We have added over 70 products to our portfolio and increased our range of round bar, square bar, tees, hollow section, channels, angles and flat bar.
As a result, we can now more comprehensively service your Aluminium extrusion requirements along with our associated value added services.
6082 Aluminium is the highest strength alloy in the 6000 series due to the addition of manganese. It is considered a “structural alloy” due to its use in applications with high levels of stress, including but not limited to cranes, trusses, and bridges. 6082 has in many instances replaced Alloy 6061.
The alloy also has very good corrosion resistance, however, the surface finish isn’t as smooth or as aesthetic as other 6000 series alloys.
Typical applications for 6082 are:
- Trailer Profiles
Often referred to as an architectural alloy 6063, this alloy is often utilised in more complex extrusions, with a medium strength. The alloy offers a good, aesthetic surface finish along with a high level of corrosion resistance. The material is also more easily welded and anodised.
Typical applications for 6063 are:
- Window Frames
- Shop Fittings
- Sign Frames
Aluminium extrusions can also be processed to meet the requirements of the customer.
