Westok appointed for Centre Parcs – Longford project

Construction of Centre Parcs, Longford featuring Ireland’s first Subtropical Swimming Pool and accommodation for 2500 guests is well underway.

Designed by Holder Mathias Architects & Jackson Design Associates, and Structural Engineers Peter Brett Associates, the resort is situated in a spectacular woodland site in Ballymahon, Co. Longford.

Kloeckner Westok were approached by the Dublin office of Curtins Consulting to prepare value engineering design proposals for the Sports Hall roof structure and Bowling Alley. Curtins developed a flat roof solution in lieu of the initially proposed saw-tooth roof using trusses, and Kloeckner Westok facilitated this solution by designing a 35m clear span value engineered rafters with a 50mm camber. The rafters were manufactured and fabricated by Westok and adopted by Main Contractor John Sisk & Son for erection by Monaghan based Steelwork Fabricator, Leonard Engineering (Ballybay) Ltd.
