Kloeckner Class

Progression, development and constant learning are some of the most important factors to the Kloeckner mantra and at the core of each of these facets, we believe, is openness to new thinking and taking a fresh perspective on everything we do.

With that, we are very passionate in the development of careers within our organisation, this relates to our existing staff but also, in our apprenticeship programs. We’re extremely proud of our internal initiatives, as we believe they provide an excellent opportunity for school or college leavers to train on the job in a fascinating industry.

We aim to provide excellent training and can offer unrivalled industry insight which establishes a strong base-knowledge and experience allowing any member of staff to create a successful career in a number of different functions across the business. We do this by partnering with local colleges across the UK, which proves invaluable in recruiting some of the future stars in our industry.

The first Kloeckner Class Star we’d like to introduce to you is Beth Delaney.

Beth attended North Halifax Grammar School and then went on to study for 2 years at Calderdale College in Halifax.

Beth is currently completing an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Business and Administration, which will help her growth within her role in the Sales and Estimating team.

Beth says:

“Everything I learn as part of the qualification will be applicable to my job and I am considering progressing to Level 3 after I have completed Level 2”.

Beth has also undertaken a home study course to gain a GCSE in Combined Science and an A Level in Psychology to broaden her knowledge and to motivate her to develop skills in all aspects of her role and her life.

In the time she has been with us, Beth has been honing her skills within the team and would spend a typical day compiling estimates, pro-active project tracking (speaking to fabricators, engineers, main contractors) and issuing project orders through to our Contracts Team for manufacture.

Beth adds,

“I chose to work for Kloeckner Metals because the role really appealed to me; I enjoy working as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills as well as being confident in maths and IT in general. From what I have experienced so far, Kloeckner seems to be a great company to work for and everyone I have met has been very friendly and helpful which makes the whole working environment positive and enjoyable to work in”

Keep an eye out on our LinkedIn and Twitter as well as the Kloeckner Metals UK blog for posts and information on Beth’s progress over the coming months – we expect to see great things!
