Kloeckner Metals UK Westok are delighted to be Caunton Engineering’s chosen partner for the extension of the prestigious Jaguar Land Rover facilities in Halewood, Liverpool.
Jaguar Land Rover is one of the success stories of British manufacturing and is the UK’s largest automotive business. Operations are currently split across five sites in the Midlands and Liverpool.
The current development consists of an extension to the Materials Planning and Logistics North building at the vehicle manufacturing plant near Liverpool in Halewood, to provide an additional 22,210 m2 of manufacturing and storage facilities.
The scheme incorporates a mezzanine floor with associated infrastructure works which is where 423 tonnes of Westok Plate Beams have been incorporated into the design to achieve optimum efficiency and economy.
This is the fifth Westok project secured with Caunton Engineering this year, projects year to date include; Peterhouse Technologies – Multi-storey office development in Cambridge, Aldi – Head Office South Building in Atherstone, Project Mary – The Range Distribution Centre in Avonmouth, Bristol and the prestigious Amazon Distribution Centre in Bardon, Leicestershire.

“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Kloeckner Metals Westok for the supply of plate girder carcasses. These provide a cost effective solution for the Mezzanine Floor, to Jaguar Landrover’s specification and to meet rigid program requirements for the refurbishment and extension of the MP & L Plant, Halewood. This is part of a large scale redevelopment of the Halewood plant, required to provide the next generation of Range Rover Evoque vehicles. Steelwork is due on site in November 2016 to be completed over a twelve week period. Westok are one of our trusted, long term supply chain partners providing reliability and quality”.
